Girls With Heart

To commemorate Yom Hazikaron, Israel’s Memorial Day for Fallen Soldiers and Victims of Terror, the students of Emunah Elisheva High School participated in a project called Stones With A Human Heart.  It is a Jewish custom to put stones upon a grave when visiting it, as a sign that someone has been there and that the deceased is remembered.  On Yom Hazikaron, Israelis by the thousands visit cemeteries and the graves of their loved ones.  There are some, however, who are too far away, perhaps across the ocean, or are unable for any reason to come in person.  The program Stones With a Human Heart stepped in, and volunteers prepare painted stones with supportive messages, and place them on graves all throughout the country.  This year, the students at Elisheva High School demonstrated their solidarity with their brethren across the country, and across the world, painted the stones, and then visited local cemeteries, spreading love to the families of the fallen, and recognizing the sacrifice that was their lot.  We are so proud of our young women!
